Microwave Abalone

  • 4 - 3 inch abalone, shelled
  • 2 ounces clarified butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced (2 teaspoons)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Remove the abalone from its shell. Tenderize by wrapping a damp towel around the abalone, and pounding the flesh lightly with the flat side of a wooden mallet. Place the prepared abalone in a microwave-proof dish; set aside. Heat butter in a nonstick skillet. Add garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, until soft. Pour over abalone; sprinkle with parsley. Cover with paper towel and microwave abalone precisely one minute on "high". Serve immediately.
